Breast Reconstruction
I had a double mastectomy on July 2, 2003. I decided to have reconstructive surgery immediately. My husband and I spoke to my surgeon about the different options. After giving us some basic information she referred us to a Plastic Surgeon. He talked to us in detail about the different types of reconstruction and the pros and cons of each for me personally. Most of this was based on my health and body type. After hearing all this information we also did some research on the internet. I decided that after the mastectomy I probably wouldn’t want to go back and have more surgery so we decided to do all the surgeries at once. I am very happy with my decision.
