Are You a Good Candidate for a Body Lift?

Body Lift

With age and weight fluctuation, and particularly after dramatic weight loss, certain areas of the body may experience unsightly sagging. When that happens, the person may attempt various diet and exercise regimens to correct the problem, but these are frequently not enough. A body lift cosmetic procedure can tackle these areas of the body and reverse the effects of sagging.

Depending on your unique needs and desires, Dr. Ghaderi can tighten and smooth skin around your midsection, arms, legs, buttocks, neck, and face with plastic surgery options like liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, eyelid surgery, and facelift surgery.

Our body lift procedures include:

Whole Body Lift. Many patients visit us for body contouring procedures to remove folds of excess skin that normally occur after dramatic weight loss. If you have undergone this kind of weight loss, we can help you achieve the trim figure you have worked so hard to achieve.

Arm Lift. Many women who have loose skin on their upper arms are embarrassed by this and attempt to hide the problem. This can result in uncomfortable life choices such as not wearing short sleeves or sleeveless dresses even when the weather outside is hot. The silhouette of the upper arm can be improved with a technique known as brachioplasty (arm lift).

Thigh lift. This procedure aims to reduce the size of the patient’s upper thighs so that they’re in proportion to their buttocks and the rest of their body.

Buttock lift. Many women cringe at the thought of wearing tight pants or low-cut slacks because they are unhappy with the size and shape of their buttocks. The problem may persist even after dramatic weight loss. A buttock lift can re-contour the buttocks and create a more natural, youthful appearance.

What makes a good candidate?

In all the cases above, the best candidates are men and women who are in good physical shape, have unsuccessfully attempted to solve the problem with diet and exercise, and have stabilized their weight for at least one year. A body lift doesn’t make much sense if the patient expects to lose further weight—better results can be achieved by waiting and completing the body lift procedure once the patient’s weight is stable. Being in good health is particularly important for undergoing a whole body lift because it’s a fairly extensive surgery that requires a body that can adequately heal from the procedure.
